Three more children died in Tharparkar, a district of Sindh, taking the total death toll to seven for Thursday and Friday.
The latest deaths include 9 months old from Islamkot, 9 days old from Mithi and a newborn from Diplo of Thar district.
So far 232 children have succumbed to death only this year due to malnutrition problem in Tharparkar.
The Civil Hospital, Mithi sources confirmed the rising death toll, where the children were brought from the remote areas of the district.
Most children die due to malnutrition as a result of a shortage of food and due to water born diseases among poor and vulnerable people living in the remote areas of Tharparkar.
Nagarparkar is the area where the children are most vulnerable and malnutrition is a common problem.
Civil Hospital Mithi also lacks the resources to meet the challenge of providing care to the newborn and most children are referred to Hyderabad for further treatment. Parents of the suffering children complain about the lack of basic facilities at the Civil hospital which often remains crowded.
The Supreme Court had also taken suo moto notice of the increasing number of deaths of children in Tharparkar last year.
