CHILAS: The Deputy Commissioner of Diamer Dildar Ahmed Malik has issued a notification to close the Babusar Road for all types of traffic due to security reasons and severely cold weather until further order.

The notification from DC mentions that travelling on Chila-Babusar Road has become risky and dangerous due to 1) winter has set in and snowfall has started on Babusar Top The road has become slippery and driving on the road has become impossible 2) The security from KPK side has been pulled back and there is a risk of robbery, killings and other terrorist activities on this road.

Meanwhile, eye witnesses have reported that unknown gunmen attacked 3-5 passenger cars at Lulusar in Naran valley in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday evening at around 5:30. According to one of the eye witness, the attack resulted in serious injury of at least 2 passengers travelling from Gilgit-Baltistan. The eye witness has reported that the attackers robbed the passengers and taken all the money, luggage, mobiles and laptops.

A local newspaper ‘Daily Aaj Abbotabad’ reports that a gang of armed robbers looted 8 passenger cars near Babusar Top and escaped from the scene.

Naran police has confirmed that robbers attacked 3 cars near Babusar Top. Muhammad Shiraz, from Mansehra was shot at and critically injured on resistance. Naran police has registered FIR against unknown attackers.

It is here to mention that Babusar road remains closed for traffic during winter due to snowfall but this year the Top has not yet received heavy snow.
