HANGU: United Tribal Party members on Thursday announced complete support for the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
A Jirga of the United Tribal Party was held in Lower Orakzai Agency.
While addressing the Jirga participants, United Tribal Party vice chairman Malak Habib Noor said that Fata residents had tendered matchless sacrifices for the country, however, the government did not pay any attention to the problems being faced by tribal people.
Malak Habib Noor demanded of the newly sworn in Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to immediately merge Fata with KP. He alleged that some of the Fata parliamentarians who are against Fata-KP merger are not well-wishers of tribal people. He claimed that FCR law is the biggest hurdle in the way of Fata development.
