DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Government Primary School No 5 DI Khan has been facing shortage of facilities forcing hundreds of children to attend classes in in-conducive environment.
Local residents said that the school building was constructed before partition that should be declared a heritage site. They said that there was neither furniture forcing the children to sit on floor and nor clean drinking water available.
Besides, building of the school is too old posing serious threat to students’ lives and appealed the district Education Department to provide alternative building where their children could attend their classes.
The residents complained that the authorities concerned has not approved fund for its maintenance. District Education Officer Attaullah Minakhel said funds would be allocated for construction of a new building and work would soon start on it.
