The construction of the Gwadar’s main bazaar road has been resumed by the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) after Pak Voices raised the issue of suspended work on a dilapidated road.
The road will be constructed from the Syed Hashmi Avenue near Javed Complex to Mullah Fazl Chowk. The GDA has re-started the work on the first phase, which will cover 1 KM road.
Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch ex-chief minister of Balochistan had laid the foundation stone of the construction of this road in 2015. The construction work was abandoned altogether after some time.

Now the work has been resumed again after almost two years gap after Pak Voices highlighted the issue.
The work of the first phase begins from the Serat-un-Nabi Square and ends up at Public Health Water Works. Executive Engineer GDA, Asif Ghani, speaking to PakVoices said, “GDA has resumed the construction of a KM long road and 35 feet wide single road.”

Javed complex to Mullah Fazal Chowk, the road of Gwadar’s main market, which is about 2.5 km away, had been suspended.
Talking to PakVoices, Ghani said, “The main reason for the suspension of work on the road was the hurdle of the market, without its removal, the construction wasn’t possible.”
He added, “Work has been resumed on the first phase because the encroaching shops have been removed and it will be completed soon.”

On the other hand, the residents of Gwadar town praised this work as Habib Karim, a citizen, said, “New road will make our market visit smooth and hassle-free.”
A local shopkeeper while talking to PakVoices said, “After the completion of the road, we will have a positive impact on our business.”
