Internet services in few areas of Pakistan has been disrupted due to the fault in the global submarine cable SMW4.

According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), PTA is actively monitoring the situation and teams have been working on identifying the exact location and resolving the fault.

The SMW4 cable is one of seven submarine cables that connect Pakistan to the global internet infrastructure. The PTA spokesperson said the fault in this cable may lead to slower internet speeds during peak usage hours.
