The Chief Minister of Baluchistan Jam Kamal Khan Alyani laid the foundation stone of the phase III of the ‘Green Energy Project’ which is being run under the Gwadar Development Project.

According the Minister Jam Kamal, the project is a stepping stone in the progress of the province and will aid the energy deficit of the province as well. The residents of Gwadar have been facing power outages along with a lack of provision of quality services to the residents.

Taking into account the recent developments in Gwadar including the inauguration of Gwadar International Airport and Gwadar Master Plan, he added that ‘2019 would be the year of Gwadar’s development’.

He also reaffirmed that the government is willing to work with the foreign investors and companies to transform Gwadar into a new economic hub of Pakistan. He hoped that the region will soon become investor-friendly and will create more opportunities subsequently.  According to him, the government is also working on the practical implementation of the Gwadar Smart City project which will further resolve a lot of current problems faced by the residents of Gwadar.

To ensure the priority given to education sector, Minister Jam Kamal added that the construction of sub-campus of University of Baluchistan is being done in Gwadar. Following the construction of this campus, the youth of Gwadar will be uplifted by provision of quality educational services and facilities.

This ceremony was attended by Federal Minister Zubaida Jalal, Provincial Ministers Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, Muhammad Saleem Khosa, Noor Muhammad Dummar, Chief Secretary Baluchistan Dr. Akhtar Naseer and other officials from Gwadar.

For the current persistent living conditions, the initiatives of development projects are largely welcomed by the people of Baluchistan.
