In an incident in Moroo village, a woman died and two children injured after the roof collapsed due to heavy rain. Runway of Nawabshah airport submerged in the rain after city received heavy downpour.
The situation in Jacobabad is nothing different than other cities of Sindh. Many roads and villages have submerged in the rain and infrastructure has been badly affected with the rain. Many feeders tripped due to heavy rainfall.
Pakistan Meteorological Department released rainfall statistics from Sindh’s rural and urban localities during the ongoing monsoon season from July to August.
Padidan, a town in the Naushahro Feroze district, received the most rainfall at 1,539.5 mm.
Other areas that received heavy rains include Mohen-Jo-Daro 811.5 mm, Larkana 721.3 mm, Tando Jam 689.9 mm, Khairpur 660 mm, Jacobabad 654 mm, Chhor 610.9 mm, Rohri 581 mm, Badin 543.2 mm, Sakrand 538 mm, Sukkur 478.5 mm, Dadu 471.9 mm, Shaheed Benazirabad 463 mm, Mithi 329 mm, and Mirpurkhas 450 mm.
According to the Met department, Hyderabad received 407 mm rainfall, while Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed received in 862mm rain during the ongoing monsoon spell.
