Unknown gunmen shot dead 10 labourers and injured several others working on a road project in Gwadar, officials said.
The incident occurred on the Pashkan Ganz road on Saturday when two gunmen riding a motorbike ambushed a construction site. They gathered all labourers in a line at gunpoint and then sprayed bullets on them. The attackers later fled.
The officials said the victims were shifted to the district headquarter hospital in Gwadar, where some of the injured people are in serious condition.
Local officials told Pak Voices reporters Suleman Hashim and Zareef Baloch that the labourers were from Naushero Feroz district of Sindh province. The bodies of the dead were later sent to their homes via a C-130 plane of the military.
The attack came at the time when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was attending an important conference on the 52 billion dollars China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Beijing. The CPEC project is highlighted by the Pakistani regime as the development revolution in Balochistan province and many of the development projects in Gwadar are linked to it.
